2011 MSERA Call for Papers: Participation Requirements
- Primary authors of papers selected for presentation will be notified by
e-mail of their scheduled presentation in the program. The e-mail will give
the title of the presentation, author(s) and institution(s) of affiliation
exactly as it will appear in the program. The date and time of the
presentation will also be given. The program
chair must be notified of any changes in date or time assigned, as well
as any changes or corrections to the program citation by August 1, 2011. Program
corrections can not be made after this date.
- Primary authors of papers selected for the program must present their papers
in person. If adverse circumstances prevent this, the primary author has
the responsibility for obtaining a substitute to make the presentation.
Not meeting this obligation could prevent your acceptance for proposals submitted
to MSERA for future years. The program
chair must be notified of any changes of this nature as soon as possible.
- All presenters (including co-authors who attend) must register for the
meeting prior to presenting their papers.
- Each contributor may be the primary author of no more than a total of two
discussion papers, displays, symposium papers or training sessions. Contributors
may participate as a second or later author on as many papers as desired.
The program chair can not guarantee that individuals who appear as second
or later authors on numerous papers will not experience conflicts in scheduling.
- Participants must bring at least 26 copies of their completed papers
(this holds for displays, symposia and training sessions as well). One
copy is for MSERA Archives; 25 copies are for distribution. It is understood
by the program committee that these submissions are complete manuscripts.
PowerPoint slides alone do not constitute a "paper" submission
and will not be considerated as an appropriate submission.
- A screen will be available in each meeting room. Other audio-visual
needs will be the responsibility of the presenter. Also, overhead projectors
will no longer be provided. We will make an effort to have lcd projectors
available; however, there is no guarantee that any technology will
be available in any given presentation room during any given session. Again,
technology needs are the sole responsibility of the presenter(s).
- Authors are requested to be consistent in how they list themselves so the
name appears in the same form each time it is listed in the program. For example,
Joan A. Smith should be listed as Joan A. Smith in each proposal containing
the same name. Alternate listings for the same individual (Joan A. Smith,
J. A. Smith, J. Alice Smith) lead to confusion and should be avoided.
